It is very rare that you can visit our website and find available Maine Coon Kittens. You can always check our kittens page and social media pages for current litters. We try our best to keep these pages updated with current kittens and upcoming litter announcements.

I will also be adding upcoming litter plans to our litter announcement page.  The wait time is incredibly variable. I do not work on a first come first serve basis, nor do I keep a formal waitlist. I generally place  my kittens with families that have reached out and that I have built a relationship with. Kitten reservations generally open up between 6-8 weeks old. Go home is between 12-13 weeks of age after your baby is fully healed from being spayed or neutered.

We are honored that you want to add one of our kittens to your home. Here are the steps to adopting one of our Maine Coon kittens.

1. The very first step is to submit an application. You cannot adopt one of our kittens without an application.

2. We will contact you with any questions we may have regarding you application. If at any time you have a question do not hesitate to reach out.

3. Once we have approved your application and you have selected a kitten, a contract  will be sent to your email, this agreement outlines our health guarantee and other conditions of our agreement. If the agreement is not signed within 72 hours I reserve the right to move onto the next applicant. A $1,000 deposit is then due to hold your kitten.  Kittens are generally reserved around 6-8 weeks of age.

4. Prepare for your kittens arrival.  Your kitten will be ready to go home around 13-14 weeks of age when they are healed from their spay or neuter.  This is the time to contact a vet and set up their first kitty wellness exam and third FVRCP vaccine. Veterinarians are often booked well in advance so schedule early. If you plan to continue feeding raw food you will also want to order in your food prior to your kittens arrival.

5. Coordinate travel plans. While we have some delivery options these are required  to be scheduled way in advance to accommodate schedules.

I do not keep a traditional waiting list for our maine coon kittens. I do keep an approved homes list with a text and email list. Those in our email list are the first to know about upcoming litters and when kitten reservations open. Additionally they are given priority in kitten selection.  Approximately a week after our email announcements I announce on our social media platforms. I try to select those that have stayed in contact and prior families before opening reservations to the general public.

Currently our kittens are $3,600 regardless of gender and color. This price reflects the serious commitment to ethically breeding high quality maine coon kittens. All kittens will go home spayed or neutered.  A deposit of $1,000 will be due once your contract is signed. The $1,000 will come out of the total price of the kitten.

The Short Answer: In general we do not offer breeding rights.

The Long Answer:
We have worked incredibly hard to acquire maine coons with exceptional bloodlines. We've spent countless hours researching pedigrees and have imported some pretty remarkable lines. Because of the time and energy we have put into our cattery we simply will not share our lines with everyone.

That said, we understand the desire to start a cattery. Being a part of the maine coon world is a wonderful adventure. When done correctly it brings so much joy to people. While we prefer to work with established catteries we are not above helping other catteries get started.

.We only offer maine coon kittens for breeding, if they are kitten we would keep for our own program. Only our best coons can become a breeding cat. The kitten must be outstanding show quality maine coon specimen. . Every kitten sold for breeding will required to undergo health testing prior to breeding and have  a kitten back provision from their first litter.

Contact us for pricing. Each kitten offered for breeding rights will be priced reflective of their quality If a breeding cat is sold the contract is individualized to the particular kitten and family.

Like all purebred cats maine coons are predisposed to certain health conditions. Due to their large size maine coons can struggle with hip dysplasia. To mitigate these concerns we have screened all our breeding cats over two years of age for hip dysplasia. We have started doing preliminary hip testing on all of our kittens as well. We came to this decision based on the fact that many females are ready to breed before two years of age. We take health very seriously and would never intentionally breed cats predisposed to dysplasia.

Another issue maine coons can be afflicted with is Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). HCM is a devastating condition that causes the walls of the heart muscle to thicken. leading to ineffective blood flow. While DNA testing is a helpful tool to screen for HCM , genetic testing does not conclusively rule out HCM. Genetic testing only covers specific mutations and there are several genes associated with the disease. It is very important that Maine Coon heart health be monitored closely.

As there is no certified cardiologist in the state of Montana we have had ultra sounds done on our Kings and Queens hearts. We have also traveled several hours one way to attend HCM clinics. Approximately half of our cats have had official echocardiograms completed. All of our Kings and Queens will have their official echocardiograms completed my the end of 2025.

Additionally all cats have been DNA tested through Wisdom Panel.

We are dedicated to the health and longevity of our maine coons. All of our cats will come with a 24 month genetic health guarantee. Your maine coons health guarantee will be outlined in your adoption agreement.

Occasionally we have retired adult maine coon cats. Our preference is to place with our family and our prior kitten families that have stayed in contact.

Our retirees are our family. While they are "discounted" we are selective to who they go to.

We've all seen the social media posts of maine coons that look the size of a bobcat....or even larger. While we want to believe that these pictures are real, they are often trick photography, editing, and angles that make the cat appear larger than life. It truly is a rare maine coon that is over 25 lbs.

It is also important to note that bigger is not always better. Maine coons can struggle with obesity. A fat maine coon will come with fat veterinary bills. Maine coons true size come from their long legs an tail. We aim for standard sized maine coons. For males we aim for 18-22 lbs and females 12-18 lbs.

While many of our kittens have outgrown their parents by the time they are a year, we simply cannot guarantee size. Any breeder that guarantee's size, specifically weight, is not being 100% transparent with you. The best that we can do is estimate size based off of the parents.. Keep in mind that sterilized cats typically weigh more than non spayed or neutered cats.

Just to give an example. our retired male Harris is 21lbs everyone says that he is the biggest cat they have ever seen. This is because he has a massive head and long legs. If he were heavy on those  legs it would put stress on his joints and heart.

Copper King Coons consciously chooses not to focus on the hyper sized maine coons. That said, an 16-20 lb maine coon will dwarf your typical house cat. They will still appear incredibly large while being a healthier weight and size.
